What Makes Legacy Different
Four things specific to this program. You won't find this combination anywhere else in Westchester.
Coach Kenny holds a Master's in Special Education. He coaches the way a great teacher teaches - with patience, clarity, and the ability to reach every athlete differently. A 2nd grader and a 6th grader are not taught the same way. Ours aren't.
Legacy Hoopers was built with families at the center. Every operational decision - how we communicate, how schedules are managed, how rosters are constructed - is made with the parent experience in mind.
Our 8U and 9U teams have two coaches every single week. At the age when fundamentals are formed for life, we don't cut corners on attention. Every kid gets seen, corrected, and developed at every practice.
The biggest complaint in youth hoops is finding out your weekend schedule on a Thursday night. We don't do that. You get structured, locked-in game schedules in the LeagueApps Play app well in advance. We respect your family's time.
Elite Coaching. Real Results.
An MSMC Hall of Fame player and Master's-level Educator, Coaching Director Kenny Lane designs our practice plans, team systems, and curriculum. His job is to ensure every coach is teaching game speed, defensive intensity, and basketball IQ.

Mount Saint Mary College Hall of FameCoach Darien Gonzalez
Coaching directly under the leadership and curriculum of Coach Kenny, Darien brings high energy and a genuine passion for the game to our younger groups. Together, they build a culture on three core pillars: Fundamentals, Standards, and Character.
Coach Kenny leads practice alongside Coach Darien to ensure premium, hands-on instruction.
Executing Kenny's system, Coach Darien serves as Head Coach for 9U in the CYO league and manages the sidelines for 8U AAU games.

We Were Right There.
Both our 11U Girls and 10U Boys reached the Semifinals in our inaugural Winter Season and went toe-to-toe with the best programs in the region.
The team that edged us out in the Semifinals went on to win the entire Championship.
We were right there swinging with the absolute best.
The team we battled in the Semifinals advanced to the Championship and lost by just two points to an undefeated team.
We hung with the best teams in the bracket.
The Curriculum in Action
Playoff basketball reveals exactly what your athletes have learned. Watch our teams execute under pressure.
Building Championship Habits
Playoff basketball requires a different level of focus. During the Zero Gravity Winter Playoffs, our 11U Girls showed how much their game IQ has evolved. This highlight is a perfect example of our athletes trusting the system, communicating on defense, and executing in crunch time.
Translating the Lab to the Court
The goal of our curriculum is to see practice concepts come to life in high-pressure moments. During their Zero Gravity Winter Playoff run, the 10U Boys did exactly that. This highlight captures their unselfish play, poise under pressure, and elite half-court execution.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the upcoming season.
How do I get my athlete evaluated?
Join our Prospective Player Interest List to put your athlete on our radar. When roster spots or evaluation opportunities become available for their age group, Program Director Frank Samaritano will email you a private link to book an on-court evaluation.
What is the weekly practice commitment?
Every team receives one mandatory 90-minute team practice per week focused on team concepts and competitive live-play. In addition, select teams receive an optional weekly 60-minute skills session focused entirely on individual player development.
How do you choose between AAU Tournaments vs. League Play?
We don't believe in a "one-size-fits-all" schedule. Coach Kenny evaluates the exact makeup of each roster and dictates the competitive path that will maximize their development. Highly advanced teams will play 5 regional weekend AAU tournaments. Teams that need more structured, foundational reps will be placed in a local Spring League. We put your child in the environment where they will actually grow, not just survive.
What is a "Practice Player" role?
Practice Players train weekly with the team and are held to the exact same standards of commitment, focus, and effort as full roster players. While game invitations are not guaranteed, Practice Players are an essential part of our program and will be activated for a game if the roster drops below 8 players for that event. They also receive the full Premium Player Kit (uniform, practice jersey, and hoodie). The fee for Practice Players is significantly reduced compared to a full roster spot.
What does the season fee cover?
The season fee covers all practices, optional skills sessions, tournament/league entry fees, insurance, and an exclusive Premium Player Kit - custom game uniform, practice jersey, and premium warm-up gear. Exact fee breakdowns are provided at the time a roster spot is officially offered.
Community Impact: Hoops for Hope
Elite athletes understand that true legacy extends beyond the court. Hoops for Hope is our academy's annual philanthropic initiative, uniting our community to support the PPP3CA Hope Foundation, a cause that is deeply personal to the Legacy Hoopers family.
Even though our inaugural event has concluded, donations remain open to support ongoing research. Employer match encouraged (EIN 88-3553126).
